After a long drive, for which I have Alex to thank, we collapsed into bed, exhausted but eager to explore yet another city.
Denver was something else entirely. Although situated in beautiful Colorado between steep mountains and expansive valleys, Denver is a bustling city boasting cool architecture, awesome views, an edgy downtown district and unique stores, bars and cafes. We loved our time spent there, living like locals. Having a car opened up to us a world of possibilities. We no longer had to rely (on sometimes unreliable) public transport and tourist activities. We could see the city how we wanted and when we wanted which also meant we could take a day trip out to Boulder- a neighbouring city. Known for its stunning mountains, parks and natural beauty, Alex and I fell in love with Boulder and spent a day in nature, hiking and appreciating the picturesque landscape.
After five days in Denver we hit the road once again, this time heading towards Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
